NCB Makes a Remarkable Breakthrough After Five Years of Restructuring, Moving Closer to Its Goal of Completing the Restructuring Plan Ahead of Schedule

At the end of the first six months of 2026, NCB recorded impressive business growth, with many business indicators exceeding the targets set. These achievements are the result of five years of the Bank’s steadfast implementation of its restructuring plan and comprehensive transformation strategy toward sustainable development.

Breakthrough business results lay the foundation for a new phase of growth

National Citizen Commercial Joint Stock Bank (NCB) has announced its financial statements for the second quarter and the first six months of 2026. Accordingly, NCB continued to maintain outstanding growth momentum, with profit after tax in Q2/2026 reaching more than VND 510.7 billion, up 64% year-on-year and nearly 136% compared with Q1/2026. Net interest income reached nearly VND 1,033 billion, up 36%, while net gain from service activities exceeded VND 72 billion, up 4% compared with the same period last year.

This was also the highest quarterly profit in NCB’s history, reflecting significant improvements in business performance, operational efficiency, and the Bank’s capabilities following five years of determined restructuring.

For the first six months of 2026, NCB recorded more than VND 726.7 billion in profit after tax, up 57% year-on-year. In line with the commitment made at the 2026 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, NCB will use all profits in accordance with the roadmap of its Restructuring Plan (RP), with the aim of completing the RP ahead of schedule and pursuing sustainable development.

NCB recorded outstanding growth in the first half of 2026

As of June 30, 2026, NCB’s total assets reached nearly VND 199 trillion, up 21.5% compared with the end of 2025 and equivalent to 105% of its 2026 target. Total customer loans exceeded VND 133.527 trillion, an increase of nearly VND 36 trillion compared with December 31, 2025.

Driven by customers’ trust and preference, together with pioneering and attractive products, NCB’s total customer funding (including customer deposits and issuance of valuable papers) recorded impressive growth, reaching more than VND 150 trillion as of June 30, 2026, up nearly 14% compared with the end of 2025. NCB’s current account savings account (CASA) balance also reached more than VND 11.889 trillion as of June 30, 2026, up 9% compared with the end of 2025.

The non-performing loan ratio and structure continued to improve significantly, demonstrating that NCB is effectively controlling the quality of its loan portfolio, improving capital utilization efficiency, and effectively implementing debt resolution measures in line with the RP roadmap.

NCB is entering a new phase of healthier and more sustainable development

These results not only demonstrate that NCB has achieved an impressive period of growth, but also mark a milestone affirming that the Bank has moved beyond the rebuilding phase and entered a new development cycle. The solid foundation established to date provides the basis for NCB to create breakthrough changes during the 2026–2030 period, with the goal of becoming a bank characterized by healthy, efficient, and sustainable development while providing outstanding financial services and solutions in the market.

Pioneering innovation and strengthening comprehensive capabilities

In recent years, NCB has made a strong impression as the bank with the fastest charter capital growth across the industry over the past five years. Through four consecutive capital increases, raising its total charter capital to VND 29.280 trillion three years ahead of the roadmap set out in the RP, NCB has undergone a remarkable transformation from the group of smaller banks to the group of banks with high charter capital in the market, establishing a solid financial foundation to support breakthrough growth in the next phase.

At the same time, NCB’s management and governance capabilities have been continuously strengthened with the leadership and management of numerous highly experienced senior executives with integrity, vision, and expertise, together with highly qualified domestic and international experts. Within a short period of comprehensive transformation, NCB has become a “new destination” for talented professionals in the banking and finance industry, offering competitive human resources policies and one of the most attractive working environments in the market.

NCB is increasingly building credibility and trust among customers

Building on its strengthened financial, governance, and technological capabilities, NCB has also progressively affirmed its position in sectors that serve as key drivers of the economy. In the corporate banking segment, NCB has provided supply chain financing to more than 180 enterprises, with a credit scale amounting to trillions of Vietnamese dong, and provided financing for 70 large-scale projects across the country, including many key national projects such as the Convention and Exhibition Center, Theater, Park, and infrastructure serving APEC; the Ben Nha Rong - Khanh Hoi Cultural Park and public green spaces along the Saigon River; and the City Central Square and Administrative Center of Ho Chi Minh City, among others.

NCB has also made significant progress in solutions, products, and innovation capabilities by providing customers with pioneering digital banking solutions, advanced financial platforms for businesses, distinctive card products, and financial solutions integrated with a privilege ecosystem introduced to the market for the first time, contributing to the digitalization of Vietnam’s tourism industry, delivering premium privileges, and accompanying customers in enjoying a refined lifestyle rich in emotion and experiences.

The achievements recorded in the first half of 2026 demonstrate NCB’s determination to achieve breakthroughs through concrete actions, affirming its position as a modern bank with strong execution capabilities, committed not only to completing the RP ahead of schedule but also to entering a new growth cycle with ambitious goals and significant challenges ahead.
