NCB Accelerates in 2025: Early Capital Increase & Exceeding All Business Targets

By the end of 2025, the National Citizen Commercial Joint Stock Bank (NCB) recorded business results exceeding all planned targets and achieved early completion of many key objectives under the Restructuring Plan, affirming the soundness of its strategy and laying a solid foundation for a breakthrough phase.

Outstanding Business Performance, Credit Quality Clearly Strengthened

According to the financial statements, by the end of 2025, NCB recorded remarkable growth across most financial indicators. Specifically, as of December 31, 2025, the bank’s total assets reached over VND 163,615 billion, increasing by 38% compared to the end of 2024 and exceeding the plan by 21%; customer loans reached VND 97,545 billion, exceeding the plan by 5%; total customer deposits reached VND 127,403 billion, growing by 33% compared to the end of 2024 and exceeding the plan by 8%.

Notably, NCB’s demand deposit (CASA) balance recorded exceptional growth, reaching over VND 11,430 billion, exceeding the 2025 plan by 51% and increasing by 22% compared to the same period in 2024. This clear improvement in CASA not only reflects customers’ trust in NCB but also helps the bank reduce costs and enhance profit margins amid increasingly intense competition in the banking and financial market.

NCB Exceeded All Business Targets in 2025

According to the financial statements, NCB’s consolidated profit after tax for 2025 recorded a positive result, improving significantly compared to the negative figure in the same period of 2024. Prior to making provisions and reversing accrued interest in accordance with the Restructuring Plan, NCB recorded profit after tax of VND 947 billion, far exceeding the plan of VND 59 billion approved at the beginning of the year and increasing sharply compared to the same period of 2024.

Under the Restructuring Plan, in 2025 NCB was not expected to make additional provisions or reverse accrued interest. However, the proactive use of the entire profit to fulfill these obligations beyond the Restructuring Plan demonstrates NCB’s strong determination and consistent actions in prioritizing the complete resolution of legacy issues and establishing a healthy, sustainable financial foundation alongside its business development objectives.

In addition, NCB effectively implemented credit risk management, controlled the quality of its loan portfolio, and efficiently executed debt resolution solutions in accordance with the Restructuring Plan roadmap. According to the report, the non-performing loan ratio of newly disbursed loans since June 30, 2024 remained at a very low level, only 0.31% of total customer loan outstanding, while the non-performing loan ratio of the portfolio outside the Restructuring Plan stood at 1.1%. These are “telling figures” demonstrating that NCB’s credit quality has continued to improve significantly.

These results represent the “sweet fruits” of the comprehensive restructuring strategy that the bank has steadfastly pursued over nearly the past five years. By synchronously implementing solutions to strengthen senior management capacity, develop a high-quality workforce meeting innovation requirements, enhance risk management capabilities and accelerate digital transformation, and develop pioneering and innovative financial solutions, NCB has not only earned growing customer trust and preference but has also enhanced its competitiveness and reputation in the market.

Early Capital Increase by One Year, Multiple Indicators Exceeding Restructuring Plan Targets

One of the most significant milestones in 2025 was NCB’s completion of its charter capital increase to VND 19,280 billion, one year earlier than the roadmap approved under the Restructuring Plan. This achievement is the result of a well-structured and transparent strategy formulation and execution process, and also reflects the confidence of investors and shareholders in the bank’s development strategy and long-term prospects.

At the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders held in December, NCB further approved a plan to increase charter capital by an additional VND 10,000 billion, expected to be completed in 2026 through a private placement of shares to professional investors. This capital increase plan was approved by the State Bank of Vietnam in late January 2026. If this subsequent capital increase is successfully implemented, the bank’s charter capital will exceed VND 29,000 billion, earlier than the Restructuring Plan roadmap, and will mark NCB’s fourth consecutive capital increase within five years (2022-2026).

NCB Is Determined to Complete the Restructuring Plan Ahead of Schedule

Early capital increases have enabled NCB to strengthen its financial capacity, fully meet safety ratios as prescribed by the State Bank of Vietnam, and create room to expand business activities across target customer segments and markets, thereby achieving differentiated and breakthrough progress. This also serves as an important prerequisite for the bank to accelerate the completion of the Restructuring Plan, meeting the objectives of safe, efficient operations and sustainable development.

Along with the early capital increase, key Restructuring Plan components such as bad debt recovery and resolution, provisioning, and reversal of accrued interest all exceeded the set plans, demonstrating the bank’s strong determination to complete the Restructuring Plan ahead of schedule.

The achievements in 2025 mark a milestone of nearly five years during which NCB has synchronously and vigorously implemented comprehensive restructuring solutions alongside a new strategic direction. From a bank facing many challenges, NCB has successfully transformed, gradually building the image of a bank with a solid financial foundation, transparent governance, and a clear development orientation. At the same time, it has generated positive momentum from the “growth flywheel,” ushering the bank into a new and vibrant development phase together with the country on its path toward a prosperous and strong era.
